This workshop allows participants to explore and combine two green woodturning techniques to create unique hollow pieces while experimenting with surface embellishment.
Participants will work on “retractable” boxes, where the body and lid are turned from green wood and the base from seasoned wood, creating a natural fit as the piece dries. They will also experiment with two-piece hollow forms with glued lids, which help master joints and reduce the challenges of “blind” hollowing.
Various shapes (round, square, multi-faceted) and simple decoration techniques, such as milk paint or texturing, will be offered to personalize the pieces and develop both technical skills and creative expression.
