Hollowing and cutting techniques (cutting and digging)
From different tools we will take the time to understand why the tool cuts (or does not cut). The focus will be on using the sliding angle (why the skew gives such a good result, and how to achieve this same result with other tools). Time will be spent refining the sharpening of its tools to achieve a quality surface finish.
The course is based on practical exercises in between point and hollowing end grain and bowl techniques, without forgetting the with small openings hollowings. Objects made: spatula, bowl, water drop box with ring, frame, flour shovel, maracas...
