Tribal Sphere
Professor of wood carving at the Lycée des métiers François Mitterrand in Château-Chinon, Guillaume presents the training objectives and the artistic approach of his work in the form of a slide show. Then, he accompanies the trainees in exploring these techniques and creating their own pieces of sculpted art.
The course aims to produce pieces inspired by his creative universe by mixing turning and wood carving with traditional tools.
The implementation steps are presented in the form of samples throughout the course. Demonstrations will allow the trainees to obtain a hollow shape used as support for the sculpture they will have to grasp.
The programme is adapted and individualised according to the abilities of each trainee and presents the turning and digging in wood from a side whose entry is reduced, the methods of deferring a drawing, the specific sharpening of the carving tools, the means of fixing a piece to be carved, the way of apprehending the thread of the wood, the tools allowing the finishing such as files and rasps needles, scraping forms, etc.
The finishing of this type of piece is time-consuming, it will be wise to continue beyond the stage.
