Beginner's and advanced course

| I can offer each
student a personal program, with the help on some courses, of Joss, my
assistant. The course is intended to anyone having a potential interest in woodturning but having none or a little experience of using a woodturning lathe. The advanced course is intended for people who are experienced in the use of basic woodturning tools and who are interesting in extending woodturning techniques: skew, end grain hollowing, hook tool hollowing, accross the grain hollowing, green wood techniques, how to make long and thin pieces (trembleur) using string steady rest and more ... depending on each student interest, responsible in fact for setting out his own program of work according to his own inspiration and skill level. |

| The aim of the course
is to enable the student to be self sufficient in: - preparing timber for turning - using the lathe competently and safely - mastering the use of basic tools for both between-centre and face-plate turning - making functional, decorative and beautifully finished objects A special attention is placed on teaching the correct methods of tool sharpening. |

Advanced

I suggest you a very innovative advanced course in collaboration with Eli Avisera.
Eli AVISERA is an Israeli woodturner who has already teached several times in my workshop at Puy St Martin. I admire his techniques and the particular way of sharpening his tools. His professional accurate training appeal to all participants. All the lucky ones who already followed his courses can talk about it... I think that we complement well each other. I propose then a training course in 2 different workshops. it's up to you to build your own programme… The course will be intensive, all woodturning techniques will be taken up! Eli Avisera is an international well known woodturner. He is teaching woodturning and carving at his workshop in Jerusalem. As a demonstrator, he is mainly invited in the US, but but also in many other countries to teach woodturning. He manufactures a range of signed tools. |

Long term training course leading to a qualification

A
wide comprehensive programme including all traditional basis of
woodturning, highlighting particulary the present-day approach
and turned woodcarving. This course is open to all adults and does not crave any
particular knowledge in woodturning but a great motivation is
necessary to follow this course.
This 15 weeks training course will start on september the 3rd and will end on December the 20th. |

Burloiu is born and lives in Romania.
Graduated from the Carving Folk Art school of Brasov, Zina is carving objects that she is selling in Romania, USA, Europe. The quality of her work is unanimously acknowledged. She is teaching her art with passion and full of the joys of life. We have the honour to welcome her during this unique three days course. During the course, Zina will teach the basis of knife woodcarving, enabling each student to carve a wood spoon following her great technic. The knives are supplied. Everyone may acces this course.
