Beginner's course (5 days)

|
I can offer each
student a personal program, with the help on some courses, of Joss,
my assistant. The course is intended to anyone having a potential interest in woodturning but having none or a little experience of using a woodturning lathe. The aim of the course is to enable the student to be self sufficient in: - preparing timber for turning - using the lathe competently and safely - mastering the use of basic tools for both between-centre and face-plate turning - making functional, decorative and beautifully finished objects A special attention is placed on teaching the correct methods of tool sharpening. The courses are limited to 6 students. |

Advanced course

| This advanced course is intended for people who are experienced in the use of basic woodturning tools and who are interesting in extending woodturning techniques: skew, end grain hollowing, hook tool hollowing, accross the grain hollowing, green wood techniques, how to make long and thin pieces (trembleur) using string steady rest and more ... depending on each student interest, responsible in fact for setting out his own program of work according to his own inspiration and skill level. | Advanced

| Eli Avisera, born in 1960, grew up, studied
and lives in Jerusalem, . Between the years 1973-1977 Eli studied at
the school of wood art in Jerusalem . Since then, Eli is a professional
woodworker.

| This course is intended to everyone interested in multi-axes and eccentric woodturning. The aim of this couse is to develop students creativity and skills with the help of multi-axes technics using Escoulen's chuck. |
